This is not a basic CRUD development role . You’ll work on technically challenging systems involving: Go/Golang backend services High-volume security data processing Distributed and event-driven systems 100+ third-party integrations Scalable APIs and data pipelines Cloud infrastructure Multi-tenant data architecture If you enjoy solving complex backend, infrastructure, and integration problems at scale, this role offers strong technical ownership and impact. What You’ll Own Backend Engineering – Go & APIs Build and maintain backend services primarily using Go (Golang) . Design scalable REST APIs and internal microservices. Implement authentication, rate limiting, retry mechanisms, fault tolerance, and robust error handling. Write maintainable, production-ready code designed for reliability and scale. Diagnose performance bottlenecks and improve backend efficiency. Enterprise Integrations Build and maintain integrations across 100+ enterprise systems . Work extensively with REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, and external services. Design integrations that remain reliable as data volume and customer usage scale. Troubleshoot integration failures and improve resilience. Implement monitoring and observability around integration health. Event-Driven Systems & Data Pipelines Design event-driven architectures for processing security data. Build pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and enrichment. Work with asynchronous processing, messaging systems, and distributed workflows. Ensure high-volume data can be processed reliably and efficiently. PostgreSQL & Data Architecture Design scalable data models for multi-tenant applications. Work extensively with PostgreSQL . Design schemas and optimize complex queries. Improve indexing and database performance. Support both operational and analytics-oriented data requirements. Maintain data integrity as the platform scales. Cloud Infrastructure & Observability Deploy and operate services across cloud environments, with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred. Work with scalable compute, managed storage, and messaging infrastructure. Implement monitoring, logging, and observability. Diagnose production issues and improve system reliability. Contribute to infrastructure and platform scalability initiatives. Architecture & Platform Development Collaborate with Product, Security, and Engineering teams. Participate in architecture decisions and technical design reviews. Identify opportunities to improve platform reliability, scalability, and maintainability. Contribute to AI-powered security workflows and automation initiatives. Required Experience & Skills Strong professional backend software engineering experience. Proficiency in Go/Golang , or strong experience with Python, Java, or TypeScript with willingness to transition to Go. Experience building production APIs and distributed backend systems. Strong relational database experience, ideally PostgreSQL . Experience with at least one major cloud platform: GCP AWS Azure Hands-on understanding of: REST APIs Webhooks Authentication systems Asynchronous processing Database design and optimization Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities. Ability to independently own technical problems through resolution. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Nice to Have Experience with any of the following is highly valuable: OAuth Event-driven architectures Message queues and asynchronous systems Distributed systems High-volume data pipelines Multi-tenant SaaS architecture Cybersecurity platforms SIEM systems Identity and access management Endpoint security platforms Startup or high-growth engineering environments AI/LLM-powered applications and workflows Core Technology Stack Backend: Go / Golang Database: PostgreSQL APIs: REST, OAuth, Webhooks Cloud: GCP preferred; AWS/Azure relevant Architecture: Microservices, distributed systems, event-driven processing Infrastructure: Messaging systems, monitoring, logging, observability What Makes You a Strong Fit You’re likely to succeed if you: Prefer backend and systems engineering over frontend/UI development. Have built production systems designed for scale. Understand that integrations need to handle failures, retries, rate limits, and changing external APIs. Care about clean architecture and long-term maintainability. Think deeply about reliability, performance, and observability. Can troubleshoot complex production issues systematically. Take ownership without requiring constant direction. Enjoy fast-moving, engineering-heavy environments. What a Typical Day Looks Like You may spend your day: Building and shipping backend services in Go. Designing an integration with an external enterprise platform. Debugging a production integration or data-processing issue. Optimizing PostgreSQL queries and indexes. Improving API reliability and performance. Building or refining event-driven data pipelines. Reviewing architecture decisions with other engineers. Improving monitoring and observability. Supporting AI-powered security and automation workflows. In short: you’ll build the scalable backend infrastructure, integrations, and data systems that power a modern cybersecurity platform. Key Metrics for Success Backend reliability and uptime. API latency and performance. Scalability under increasing workloads. Reliable processing of high-volume security data. Reduced third-party integration failures. Database and query performance. Platform stability and maintainability. Quality and speed of engineering execution. Why This Role Stands Out Work on real distributed backend systems , not basic application development. Solve challenging integration problems across 100+ enterprise systems. Build infrastructure supporting high-volume cybersecurity data. Work across APIs, databases, event-driven architecture, and cloud infrastructure. Exposure to AI-powered security workflows. Strong technical ownership in a fully remote environment. Growth opportunities into: Senior Backend Engineer Senior Go Engineer Platform Engineer Systems Architect Infrastructure Lead Interview Process Initial Phone Screen Technical Interview Practical Backend/API Assessment Cross-Functional Interview Offer & Onboarding Apply Now If you’re a backend engineer who enjoys Go/Golang, distributed systems, PostgreSQL, APIs, integrations, and scalable infrastructure , we’d love to hear from you. Join a technically challenging environment where you can build backend systems that process security data at scale and directly influence the architecture and reliability of a growing cybersecurity platform. #LI-AG1 #Golang #GoDeveloper #BackendEngineer #SoftwareEngineer #Cybersecurity #PostgreSQL #DistributedSystems #GCP #APIDevelopment #Microservices #CloudEngineering #RemoteJobs

Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

144.883Jobs

81%EN

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
