You’ll work on impactful digital solutions for leading organisations across Benelux and contribute to challenging projects using modern technologies, while continuously learning alongside experienced colleagues in an environment built on knowledge sharing, curiosity, and craftsmanship. Combining technical excellence with a human-centered approach, you’ll help design solutions that truly make a difference for both clients and their users. What you’ll do This position is based in Louvain-la-Neuve, Brussels or Leuven, with teleworking options. You may also need to visit client’s site occasionally. You are part of a growing team of talented Developers and AI Engineers who have already successfully completed consulting engagements for renowned clients in various industries (energy, automotive, drones, pharmaceutical, healthcare, chemicals, mobility, environment, etc.) from small to large-sized companies. You design and develop the best IT solutions for our clients, using mainly top notch open-source programming technologies. You analyse available data by leveraging advanced data processing and statistical techniques, and help define new data needs and collection strategies. You design and build agentic workflows and multi-agent systems leveraging tool calling, RAG and orchestration frameworks. You leverage AI-assisted development tools and coding agents to streamline your daily workflow, boost productivity, and maintain high code quality. You actively contribute to the development and deployment of LLM or machine learning-based systems to production environments, in close collaboration with our software development teams. You help your team in understanding, structuring and challenging our clients' needs by participating in various business development and iteration meetings. You learn every day in the context of different projects. You leverage coaching from more experienced colleagues and also share your experience and skills with your colleagues (pair programming). You are responsible for organizing your daily work, leveraging different management tools and reporting directly to Project Managers. You are regularly in contact with client representatives (face-to-face meetings, emails, phone calls) to present the latest results or advances of the solutions we develop. Who you are You hold a Master’s or a PhD degree in STEM (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, etc.). You have experience applying robust data processing and analysis techniques (descriptive statistics, statistical tests, regression, visualization, etc.) to answer complex scientific and/or business questions. You hold a solid foundation in classical machine learning, deep learning, and statistical data processing to choose the right approach for the job (tabular data, image processing, time series forecasting, etc.). You have experience in programming, and you are at least familiar with the Python programming language and the associated toolkit. You are familiar with essential data access techniques (e.g., text file manipulation, SQL queries, etc.), and you might have experience with NoSQL databases or vector databases. You are willing to learn new technologies and improve existing technical skills. You are looking for a nurturing professional environment offering you this opportunity. You have operational knowledge of macOS and/or GNU/Linux. You are familiar with standard coding tools (Git, modern IDEs, etc.). You have very good communication skills (oral and written) in English. French and/or Dutch are considered strong assets. You can be described as an analytical-minded person. You are curious and want to understand how things work beneath the surface. You can collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders, but at the same time feel ready to defend your own point of view and values. You are pragmatic, organised and flexible at work. You can handle your own tasks but know when and how to ask for help or additional information whenever necessary. You pay attention to details, and you are always striving for excellence. Additionally, these are not mandatory but are considered assets: Experience in professional backend or frontend development. Knowledge of more specialised data science libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch. Experience in building, evaluating or deploying AI models. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
