About the job As Solution Engineer, you design and implement the automation, templates and tooling that enable Sandvik teams to build, publish and operate APIs and integrations independently. Working from vendor-agnostic principles, you turn standards and architectural direction into practical platform capabilities that perform reliably in production. You’re part of the PA Engineering Platforms Integration team and report to the Competence Manager. Job responsibilities: Build and maintain reusable platform components, templates and shared services for APIs, integrations and event-driven solutions. Develop CI/CD pipelines, automation services and utilities that support platform delivery and operations. Embed security, logging, reliability, quality and compliance controls into pipelines and templates. Translate architecture and technical standards into consistent, production-ready implementation patterns. Onboard and support development teams using the platform, improving its capabilities based on their feedback. Troubleshoot live integrations and take ownership of platform components in production. Location This is an on-site position based at World Trade Center in Stockholm or Mossvägen in Sandviken. Your profile You’re an experienced engineer with a strong software development foundation and extensive exposure to platform engineering, DevOps and enterprise integration environments. Just as importantly, you know how to convert complex standards into reusable solutions that other developers can confidently adopt. Your background also includes: Strong programming skills in C#, combined with the ability to write and troubleshoot Bash and/or PowerShell scripts. Extensive experience with integration patterns, including APIs, messaging and event-driven architecture, as well as API gateways or enterprise integration platforms. Hands-on expertise in CI/CD, deployment automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep or similar technologies. Practical experience with cloud platforms, distributed systems, Docker and Kubernetes or comparable container orchestration technology. Post-secondary education in IT or Computer Science, or equivalent verified hands-on enterprise experience, together with strong English communication skills. With a developer-first mindset, you balance high technical standards with pragmatic decisions that move work forward. You communicate complex topics clearly, collaborate constructively and take accountability for what you build, while coaching platform consumers and proactively improving their experience. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
