Safety Coordinator Department: Operations Employment Type: Part Time Location: Bend, OR Reporting To: Safety Director Description THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION The Safety Coordinator supports the Safety Director, Field Safety Managers and the Project Teams in coordinating various activities and initiatives across safety. The coordinator will also complete work to keep the department in compliance with OSHA. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for managing a wide variety of projects that assist the company in meeting our overall goals. The Safety Coordinator will develop written content policy and practices and work. They will manage events and help create safety awareness through a variety of means. Key Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following duties are representative of the job but are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed. · Work with the Safety Director to coordinate safety activities · Provide usable information that is accurate, timely and provides recommendations to expedite decision making · Critically think through issues or problems, gather information, and provide recommendations to resolve them · Work effectively with a variety of vendors including medical services, safety suppliers, etc. · Manage the ordering, tracking and distribution of safety materials, supplies shirts, swag, any other items for safety · Manage all aspects of safety sponsored events: ie safety lunch, safety week · Assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures for the safety department on all major processes · Conduct various trainings across the company · Schedule and coordinate various safety activities, track documentation for each meeting · Coordinate trainings, onboarding, etc. · Coordinates, tracks, and maintains the safety incentive program · Support policy and program development by creating manuals, documents, etc. · Manage and track safety management software programs which are utilized in the field Skills, Knowledge and Expertise · The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive. · High School diploma required · Associates degree preferred · Must have 2-3 years of experience supporting management personnel · Excellent writing and proofreading skills required · Requires initiative, attention to detail, and excellent follow-up skills · Must have excellent communication and organization skills · A basic understanding of construction preferred · Some knowledge and understanding of Fed, OR-OSHA and DOSH standards preferred · Excellent Computer Skills · Proficient in all Microsoft applications to include Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook · Ability to work independently and as part of a team · Excellent problem-solving skills · Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet the demands of the work · Ability to efficiently multi-task and prioritize workload and effectively deal with frequent distractions · Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Pence Values Critical to the success of the Manager of Experience at Pence, is an understanding of our values.
