We are currently seeking a Project Engineer (III/IV) - Water/Wastewater to help serve our connection of clients and community. The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. Your Primary Responsibilities will include Lead the design, analysis, and technical oversight of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure. Prepare and review engineering calculations, design drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Conduct hydraulic modeling and system analysis to optimize water distribution and sewer collection networks. Manage field investigations, site assessments, and construction observation; provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Develop project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and proposals; support project management activities. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and compliant project designs. Review and ensure compliance with design standards, regulatory requirements, and permitting processes. Serve as a point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies; communicate technical information clearly and effectively. Mentor and support junior staff; uphold quality control and company engineering standards. What you'll need Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering field. EI/EIT required; PE registration preferred or in progress. 4–8+ years of experience in water/wastewater design, permitting, or construction support. Proficiency with hydraulic modeling tools (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, SWMM, etc.). Strong experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D; BIM/Revit knowledge preferred. Demonstrated experience with pump systems, process equipment, site layout, and utility design. Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership, communication, and client coordination abilities; capable of mentoring junior engineers. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one.
