Collaborated with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional departments to support efficient operations, ensure timely maintenance services, and consistently deliver exceptional customer service and operational excellence What You'll Do: Management Manage, select, train, motivate, review, coach, develop and retain a high-performance team. Provides leadership, direction, and oversight for multiple highly technical teams within the Metals organization, driving collaboration, operational excellence, and the successful delivery of business objectives. Identifies key members of the team and develops succession plans accordingly. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of decisions, escalating to the director when necessary. Conduct timely and accurate employee performance evaluation; address performance issues as needed. Analyzes, defines, prioritizes, communicates, and manages workload for staff based on business priorities, ROI and schedule. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and intra-departmental communications; maintain managerial relationships by encouraging and providing a timely, two-way flow of information between subordinates, management, and user groups. Participate in operational meetings as required or necessary. Manages all aspects of team performance, including execution, resource optimization, talent development, and continuous process improvement to support organizational success. Motivate staff to improve quality of work performed and provide training and development opportunities as needed. Ensure compliance in Health, Environment & Safety/Quality in all areas of operations; ensure company policies and guidelines, as set forth in the Corporate Human Resources Policy manual are followed; maintain a safe and clean work environment. Assist with the development of the departmental budget; approve and manage expenditure; forecast short and long-range budgeting needs; ensure expenditure is aligned with approved budget. Develop organizational strategies, analysis, and recommendations for corrective maintenance department; ensure objectives align with organizational objectives; continually evaluate existing processes to determine areas of improvement. Develop processes for follow-up; ensure team provides excellent customer service. Initiates, guides, manages and implements continuous improvement initiatives within all areas of responsibility using tools like Lean Six Sigma. Budget Build and manage the annual budget for the department including headcount. Assists with purchasing necessary equipment, licenses, and services for department. Equipment Maintenance Develops, implements, and manages strategic oversight of comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance programs for high-complexity metals production equipment. Collaborates with cross-functional engineering, operations, reliability, and maintenance teams to establish standardized maintenance strategies, optimize equipment reliability and lifecycle performance, minimize downtime, and drive continuous improvement in asset management and operational excellence. Helps develop predictive maintenance strategies while aligned with the reliability team. Meets with cross-functional teams to identify issues, problems or concerns; gather feedback; determine or recommend appropriate corrective action; follow up to ensure customer quality and satisfaction. Manages all aspects of repair activities, projects, high-complexity equipment maintenance, work orders, daily operations, and inventory requirements. Ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and within established specifications while maintaining accurate documentation, inspection records, and compliance with operational standards. Manages work order process for all corrective and preventative maintenance; recommend improvements and gather required data for metric development. Provides project management, analysis, and consulting using industry best practices and methodologies. Oversee project management for complex metals equipment initiatives, coordinating domestic and overseas contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution, timeline adherence, and alignment with operational objectives. Reviews manufacturers’ service manuals, usage schedules and records of maintenance; develops system and checklist metrics to determine optimum frequency of preventive maintenance of all equipment, machinery and tools; maintain equipment manuals, equipment warranties and tool inventories. Studies production and operation schedules and works with manufacturing teams to determine when planned maintenance would least interfere with operations. Plans and coordinates parts and equipment to quickly and efficiently perform preventive maintenance with the least disruption to manufacturing. Research and Reporting Develops and implements a proactive maintenance program by compiling and evaluating maintenance operations data related to process operations and equipment Determines operating efficiency and effectiveness and makes recommendations regarding continued maintenance versus replacement. Help develop OEE measurements with the manufacturing team and develop strategy for improvement. Develops, manages, and communicates recurring project performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and workload reporting, while overseeing the collection, analysis, and reporting of maintenance metrics to monitor Metals equipment performance, optimize operational efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making. Defines and leads the development of reporting solutions, including informational reports and interactive dashboards that support strategic decision-making, operational visibility, and performance monitoring. Cost Tracking Manages costs of personnel, parts, and supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance; maintains tracking system of time and costs involved with repairing equipment; submits purchase requests to Purchasing; obtains proper coding and documentation; follows-up to ensure schedule is maintained and up to date. Manages cost tracking in SAP for maintenance and coordinates these activities with manufacturing to make sure costing is accurate for work performed. Maintains records of planned and completed maintenance; inputs maintenance and machine shop’s time in excel spreadsheet by job and cost center to track costs; updates maintenance metrics based on priority of each job. Coordinates with Purchasing any necessary items required to perform maintenance on equipment, machinery, and tools. Other Perform additional duties as needed.
