The Payment Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of domestic and international payments, ensuring compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and banking standards. The role contributes to the efficiency and security of payment operations. Key Accountabilities Process and validate outgoing payments (SEPA, SWIFT,XML messages ),Standing Orders, Direct Debits, Internal transfers. Monitor payment queues and ensure timely execution in line with cut-off times. Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of all manual cash transactions. Review client transactions to identify potential anomalies or irregularities and initiate investigations when necessary. Transaction screening monitoring in AML tool : initial analysis of message to eliminate false positives. Reconcile payment transactions and resolve discrepancies with internal teams or banking correspondents. Liaise with banks and internal stakeholders to resolve payment-related issues. Ensure compliance with internal policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AML, KYC). Contribute actively to continuous process improvement. Knowledge and Experience Pre Higher Education (A Levels or equivalent) At least 3 years experience in a similar role Attributes and Qualities Communication (Verbal & Written) Collaborative Teamwork Time Management Adaptability & Learning Agility Client-Centric Mindset Technical Skills Payment Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with SEPA, SWIFT,XML,TARGET2. Good command of MS-Office package Proficiency in systems for processing payments. Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of AML, KYC, and other financial regulations affecting payments. Languages Skills Fluent in English and German, French would be a plus
