PURPOSE The Senior Product Developer – Performance Apparel plays a key role in the development of high-performance technical sportswear, transforming creative concepts into innovative, manufacturable, and technically advanced products. This role combines extensive expertise in high-performance apparel product development, in-depth knowledge of materials and garment technologies, a strong design sensibility, and excellent organizational skills to ensure that every product meets the highest standards of quality, performance, fit, and brand positioning. The Senior Product Developer works closely with the Design, Pattern Making, Materials, Production teams, and external suppliers, managing the entire product development lifecycle - from initial concept through final validation and industrialization. The role requires significant experience in developing high-performance technical garments, with a strong focus on performance fabrics (waterproof, breathable, thermal, stretch, etc.) and the implementation of innovative construction techniques. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with the Linea Rossa Apparel Design team to translate creative concepts into detailed technical specifications, ensuring product feasibility, design consistency, and manufacturing sustainability. Manage and oversee the entire product development process, from prototype launch through final validation, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Lead the development of high-performance technical garments, with particular focus on innovative performance materials (waterproof, breathable, thermal, stretch, etc.) and advanced garment construction techniques. Liaise with pattern makers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners, both in Italy and internationally, to communicate technical specifications, collect feedback, and manage product revisions. Lead garment fitting sessions and prototype reviews, identifying and implementing technical and construction improvements to optimize performance, fit, comfort, and overall product quality. Ensure the accurate creation and maintenance of technical data, Bills of Materials (BOMs), material specifications, and product documentation within PLM systems, guaranteeing data accuracy, completeness, and traceability. Support the introduction of new materials, finishes, and technological solutions in collaboration with the Design and CMG teams, contributing to continuous product innovation and collection performance. Coordinate internal and external stakeholders throughout all stages of the development process, ensuring effective communication and structured project execution. Collaborate with athletes and brand ambassadors in the development of custom garments, translating technical feedback into high-performance product solutions. Work closely with testing laboratories and external partners to plan and execute product testing activities, analyze test results, and implement corrective actions to ensure required performance standards are achieved. Ensure compliance with all technical, quality, regulatory, and performance requirements defined by the brand, monitoring adherence to specifications throughout the development process. Organize and maintain the archive of prototypes, samples, and technical documentation, contributing to the development of a comprehensive product knowledge base for future collections. Ensure that every product reflects the brand's quality, technical, and aesthetic standards while contributing to the continuous improvement of product development processes and overall collection excellence. REQUIREMENTS Degree in Fashion, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field. Approximately 10–15 years of experience in high-performance sportswear/technical apparel product development and innovation. Strong proficiency in PLM systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Fluent in both English and Italian. Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and strong attention to detail. Strong passion for innovation, with a keen interest in emerging technologies, advanced materials, and experimental design solutions. Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and manage complex development projects.
