Job Summary: Super Micro Computer, Inc. is seeking talented Sr. Validation Engineer to join the testing team based out of our San Jose headquarter office. This position will be working closely with BIOS and design team to test and validate motherboards, systems, and other server components; discover and resolve hardware and software issues collaboratively. The ideal candidate must have solid hands-on experience in enterprise motherboards and its components with strong testing knowledge, able to work effectively in team environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned): • Perform motherboard, system, and other server component validation testing • Conduct functionality testing, compatibility testing, performance testing, stress and reliability testing • Develop and validate thermal solution for server platforms with respect to industry standards • Evaluate all of the system layout and power consumptions, air flow direction, acoustics and mechanical testing (vibration, shock or drop testing) • Conceptualize, plan and execute the design and development of cooling solutions for server platforms • Perform system and component level thermal analysis, definition, testing (including wind tunnel testing, chamber test set up, thermocouple installation, automated data acquisition), thermal debugging, system optimization and documentation Qualifications: • Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science • Minimum of 7 years of working experience in hardware validation environment • Strong knowledge of computer architecture • Familiar with Linux, Windows, and networking • Strong sense of team work and a good team player, strong communication skills in both speaking and writing • Knowledge of thermal management hardware, heat transfer material and cooling devices Salary Range EEO Statement Supermicro is an Equal Opportunity Employer and embraces diversity in our employee population.
