Job Description The role includes design, planning, deployment and providing system training for Common Virtualization infrastructure directly support StarHub’s diverse business functions. He/she is expected to take ownership of projects, supporting team’s activities. The individual will take ownership of projects, and utilize critical analysis to understand business needs and implement the required infrastructure for effective service delivery. Main Responsibilities: Manage multiple projects and architecture relating to system and common virtualization infrastructure. Oversees the complete project lifecycle including project management, architecture, security, implementation, and operations. Manages assigned systems, including capacity planning and provisioning, performs essential system maintenance, and ensures rapid service recovery within defined SLAs, while maintaining security and regulatory compliance. Involve in the implementation of service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business. Perform rotating standby duties and act as a primary technical escalation point for operational issues. Take ownership of escalated incidents, promptly investigate their root cause, and implement effective resolutions (both temporary and permanent), ensuring timely communication of progress. Maintain strong awareness of new technologies and its potential in our infrastructure. This involves continuous learning about advancements and evaluating their relevance for improving efficiency, productivity and exploring new possibilities. Implement governance, build, deploy and monitor standards in the virtualization infrastructure. Support and contribute to systems integrations and CI/CD automation for Virt infrastructure and workflow. Supports the creation and maintenance of application infrastructure reference architecture by applying innovative technologies for seamless system integration and efficient hardware resource management Work with security team to implement essential security features aligned with the company's security framework, enabling early threat detection and alerts to protect application infrastructure and systems. Work closely with software application team to optimize the performance and security of virtualization architecture and resources for various applications. Work with partners on automation of infrastructure migration in/to virtualization environments. Engage with cloud service providers to ensure adherence to critical metrics and SLAs in their service delivery and documentation. Requirements Appropriate qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer/ Electronics Engineering or equivalent. Strong understanding of virtualization e.g. VMware, Kernel Virtual Machine (KVM), RHOVE. Basic knowledge of security policy and compliance, with at least 2 years of experiences in handling security and network infrastructure e.g. routers, switches, firewall, load balancers, proxies, authentication systems (AD, TACACS, Radius). Good internet systems knowledge e.g. DNS, DHCP, IPAM. Hands-on proficiency in Linux and Window Server administration. Strong understanding of major cloud platforms, including AWS and VCF Understanding of Representational State Transfer (REST) and Application Program Interfaces (APIs) . Strong knowledge in technology infrastructure domain such as virtual server technologies, networking, internet protocols, scripting & monitoring tools, as well as infrastructure automation methodologies and technologies . Familiar with cloud-native architecture and Kubernetes. Strong analytical skill, creative and thinking out of the box when problem solving. Certification in cloud technology platforms (in Architecture or Networking), Container Architecture, Systems and/or Network Virtualization . Knowledge of telco network such as Mobile and Fixed will be advantageous. Passion for software development, automation and new technologies/innovations for business and in operational excellence.
