Requisition ID: [[id]] Description We are seeking a Validation Engineer (VE) Co-op in our Mobile Solutions Business (MSB) unit in Skyworks Newbury Park, CA design center. You will be part of a VE engineering group in support of high-volume power amplifier products and sub-systems for cellular handset applications assisting VE to setup tests, gather, analyze and summarize the data. You will also help design engineers optimize the module by tuning. Looking for somone who is a driven and committed team player. Duration of Co-op assignment: up to 6 months from January to June 2027 Responsibilities o Working with a senior VE to setup tests and gather data for compliance matrix o Performing lab testing using RF test equipment and analyzing/summarizing the data o Working with a design engineer to help optimize matching circuits for better module performance Software Tools Used: o Agilent ADS o Multiple Internal Software for Data Analysis o Microsoft Office/Outlook Hardware Tools Used: o Network Analyzers o Spectrum Analyzers o Signal Generators o Digital Receivers o Load-Pull/Tuners o RF Probe Stations Required Experience and Skills o Enrolled in a BSEE (or MSEE) program with emphasis in RF and Power amplifier theory or equivalent. o Circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/GoldenGate/spectreRF. o Understanding of RF concepts such as impedance matching, impedance transformation, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability. o A self-starter and team player with ability to learn on the job. o Good communication skills both verbal and written. Desired Experience and Skills o Hands on experience in lab debugging. The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
