Together, We Can Make A Significant Impact We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer to lead the architecture, integration, and delivery of advanced laser and electro-optical systems. This is a senior technical leadership role where you will drive system-level decisions, oversee multidisciplinary teams, and ensure successful execution from concept through deployment. You will play a key role in shaping system design, managing complexity, and delivering high-performance solutions in demanding operational environments. Be Part of Our Success Translate operational requirements into technical specifications and lead the systems engineering process from concept to deployment. Define system architecture, functional requirements, and performance specifications for advanced laser and electro-optics systems. Design systems considering electrical, thermal management, mechanical stability and safety compliance. Lead multidisciplinary development activities and ensure technical alignment across all subsystems. Lead prototyping, testing, and integration of electronics, mechanical, optical and software subsystems into a coherent system. Conduct and oversee system-level testing, validation, and field deployment to ensure that performance and operational requirements are met. Develop and maintain comprehensive and accurate technical documentation, including design records, test reports, and validation data, ensuring compliance with configuration management and industry standards. Qualities We Value Knowledge in Systems Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Physics, or equivalent. Minimum 10 years of experience in systems engineering of advanced laser or electro-optics systems. Proven experience in requirements engineering, system design reviews, and verification/validation plans. Solid understanding of optics, lasers, and electro-optical systems to effectively lead system integration and design decisions. Familiarity with systems engineering practices including requirements traceability, interface definition, and verification planning. Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, thermal and safety considerations in advanced laser and electro-optics design. Hands-on experience in advanced laser and electro-optics performance testing. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working across engineering domains. Proficiency in optical design tools and simulation software. Strong leadership and technical coordination across multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to translate customer needs into engineering requirements and solutions. Skilled in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration. Comfortable with ambiguity in early R&D stages, and able to structure complexity. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams toward shared objectives. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
