Data Pipeline Development Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting and transforming data from multiple source systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, manufacturing systems). Develop ETL/ELT processes using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Notebooks, and Dataflows. Ensure efficient data movement, transformation, and orchestration. Identify opportunities to automate data workflows and improve pipeline efficiency 2. Data Architecture & Modeling Design and maintain the data architecture within Microsoft Fabric / selected data platform, including lakehouse and warehouse structures. Implement scalable data models optimized for reporting and analytics. Define best practices for data structure, partitioning, and performance optimization. 3. Data Integration Integrate data from enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, CRM, and other operational databases. Build connectors and ingestion pipelines for structured and semi-structured data. Support real-time or near real-time data integration where required under consideration of cost-benefit optimization. 4. Data Quality & Reliability Implement data validation, monitoring, and error-handling mechanisms. Ensure high levels of data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the data platform. Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline failures or performance issues. 5. Communication Work closely with Process Analysts, IT and Smart Manufacturing Engineers to provide well-structured datasets for reporting and dashboards. Translate business and reporting requirements into scalable data models. Enable self-service analytics through curated and governed datasets under alignment of BU Advanced Optics Data Strategy. Align project requirements with Corporate IT, Global Business Process Owners and other global functions to ensure conformity to global governance and reporting standards. Maintain a good and professional relationship with internal customers and stakeholders. 6. Platform Optimization & Governance Monitor performance and optimize pipelines, storage, and compute usage within Microsoft Fabric / selected data platform. Implement governance standards for data security, access control, and metadata management. Contribute to the overall data architecture strategy. Evaluate new data engineering tools and features. Support the evolution of the company’s enterprise data platform. Your Profile Education Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Experience 3–7 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or cloud-based data platform development. Technical Competencies Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric. Experience designing and managing Lakehouse and Data Warehouse architectures. Proficiency in ETL/ELT development using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows, and Notebooks. Experience integrating data from ERP, CRM, MES, and other enterprise systems. Knowledge of SQL, data modeling, data governance, and cloud-based data platforms. Experience with data quality, monitoring, and pipeline optimization. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
