Your Key Responsibilities Build and maintain scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure for AI platforms with IaC (Terraform, Python, ...) Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure platforms Automate operational efforts and establish self-service solutions for internal customers Establish and maintain logging, monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve performance issues Taking on the technical responsibility of applications throughout the life cycle as part of a DevOps team Close collaboration with external software vendors for managing, developing, and maintaining IT systems Build and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for mission-critical applications and infrastructure Ensure compliance with security policies and standards, working with security and compliance teams as necessary Your Qualifications University degree in (business) informatics or alternative training with relevant professional experience in this field At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in this field Strong automation and infrastructure as code mindset backed by proven experience in using Terraform and CI/CD technologies like Jenkins or GitHub Actions Experience with at least one additional scripting programming language such as Python Used DevOps workflows for infrastructure management and automated incident response before Hands-on experience working with managed cloud services (focus on AWS, additionally Azure), including compute, storage, databases, and AI services. Profound knowledge about AI cloud services in AWS and Azure, like AWS Bedrock with AgentCore, and Azure AI Foundry Experience in enterprise cloud environments, like private networking, secure service configurations, etc. Sound knowledge about latest AI technology, including common cloud services, like AI Agents, MCP, gateways and registries Fluent in English, spoken and written Ability and willingness to take responsibility for services Strong hands-on attitude combined with good analytical skills Ability to learn new technologies and skills (T-Shape philosophy) Proficiency in agile methodologies, with experience working effectively within agile teams and environments, fostering an agile mindset in daily work. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
