About the role Our Breakthrough Innovation team, composed of 6 people, is integrated in the R&I Peroxides department and focuses on innovative process technologies. As a Trainee Electrochemical Engineer/Scientist, you will work on breakthrough technologies to produce hydrogen peroxide. You will get the opportunity to contribute to electrochemical process development to produce H2O2 and have a positive impact on how the future of this industry could look like. You will be accountable for: Respect and apply the HSE rules and housekeeping practices. Actively and proactively contribute to the safety of the laboratory and the people. Perform with care and in a timely manner electrochemical-synthesis experiments. Use analytical techniques to follow up the different reactions. Provide a summary of the results, develop his/her own critical analysis, and communicate them to the project leader We offer an internship (6 months) contract based on onsite working mode. This internship is expected to start on October or November. About you Relevant education degree or equivalent in Engineering or Chemistry. Relevant work experience in laboratories is a plus. Competencies: English proficiency Knowledge of chemical-engineering principles, thermodynamics Good knowledge of lab equipment Behaviors: Proactive problem-solver who challenges the status-quo safely and sustainably Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities in a dynamic environment Curiosity and resilience to drive innovation in a fast-changing environment About the pay Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is: € 350 per month in Belgium Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
