Our Opportunity North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Packaging Engineer - I to join our team. The ideal candidate will design and develop packaging for NAL products shipped to customers, and support the development and implementation of NAL in-house packaging between manufacturing operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Your Priorities Designs expendable and returnable packaging, as required, for NAL products shipped to customers in conjunction with customer requirements and method of shipment requirements. Develops vendors and obtains pricing for packaging designs in conjunction with NAL Purchasing. Approves tooling design and costing for packaging designs. Develops NAL specifications for the testing of packaging in conjunction with customer requirements and method of shipment requirements to ensure integrity of packaging. Coordinates and conducts testing of packaging designs in conjunction with NAL Quality Assurance, customer requirements, and method of shipment requirements to ensure integrity of packaging. Coordinates and conducts training of manufacturing personnel in the assembly of each specific packaging requirement. The salary range for this position is $63,700 - $82,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, qualifications, and the career level at which the position is filled. Requirements Your Background BS in Engineering or Industrial Technology, plus 0 to 2 years of related manufacturing experience. Packaging engineering experience in a Just In Time automotive manufacturing facility is preferred.
