Your mission: You will support our ISMS and IT Security team in embedding information security, governance, and compliance across the organization. Rather than working purely conceptually, you will be closely involved in daily operations and gain hands‑on experience with key security and regulatory topics. Your responsibilities include: Support the operation and continuous improvement of our Information Security Management System (ISMS) in line with ISO/IEC 27001 Assist with risk assessments, follow up on security measures, and help maintain relevant documentation Participate in security, compliance, and other reviews together with experienced team members Support the team in addressing regulatory requirements such as NIS2, GDPR, the Cyber Resilience Act, and the EU AI Act Contribute to the creation and improvement of policies, processes, and templates Assist in preparing and supporting internal and external audits and reviews Work closely with colleagues from IT, HR, management, and other business partners Your profile: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in IT Security, Cyber Security, or Information Security (from the 5th bachelor semester onwards) Strong interest in IT security, governance, data protection, and regulatory matters First practical experience or basic knowledge in information security or compliance is an advantage Structured, accurate, and reliable working style Very good command of English (written and spoken) and Good German skills (written and spoken) are a plus High motivation to learn, develop professionally, and gradually take on more responsibility Our offer: An inspiring position in our Group IT department Location: Group office Vienna, Marxergasse 4a, 1030 Vienna Duration: limited to 12 months Extent: part-time, > 20 hrs / week We offer a compensation package at € 18,420 gross/year on a part-time basis (20 hours/week). If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
