Position Description We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Supervisor to lead our Electrical and Controls Engineering Team. This position reports to an Engineering Manager within Modine’s Data Center Air Handling Unit product segment. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in electrical engineering and HVAC controls with strong leadership and project management capabilities Key Responsibilities Lead a team of electrical engineers and designers responsible for the design and maintainance of proprietary electrical systems for data center cooling products throughout the entire product lifecycle. Ensure outputs from the team are within project timelines and of high quality. Outputs include electrical wiring schematics, panel/terminal layout drawings, wire loom documentation, and PLC control programs. Participate in design meetings and communicate with the project management team, design team members, application engineers, and customers. Work with compliance team to ensure the design and manufacturing is in compliance with all applicable customer, Modine, and industry requirements (UL, CSA, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, OH&S, etc.) Lead engineering team to develop, test, deploy, and maintain electrical control systems for both the data center cooling products and the factory processing equipment. Serve as interface between the Electrical and Controls Engineering group and other functions, such as Operations, Panel Shop, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Customer Management teams. Constantly scrutinize designs for improvements to manufacturability and overall cost while maintaining excellent quality and reliability. Mentor the Electrical and Controls Engineering team though solving any technical or commerical issues related to the electrical or controls design. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in the data center cooling market. Required Education & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field APEGA Registered P.Eng. in good standing 5+ years of total engineering experience with proven leadership experience in supervising engineering teams. Experience with HVAC systems, data center equipment, and ICT equipment preferred. Faimliarity with UL standards, specifically UL 60335-2-40, UL-2755, UL 62368-1, and UL 508A UL certification process experience. Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and ISO/IEC standards. Familiarity with design and manufacture of Industrial Control Panels (ICP) Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
