We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our talented engineering team. This is a critical role responsible for guiding projects from the initial purchase order through to the manufacturing floor, ensuring the delivery of safe, on-time, and cost-effective quality designs. Key Responsibilities As the Engineering Manager, you will provide daily supervision and strategic leadership to the engineering department. You will be instrumental in achieving our corporate goals by overseeing the entire workflow of shop documentation and supporting new product development through design standardization. Lead & Mentor: Guide, coach, and manage a diverse team of Mechanical Engineers, Technicians, Designers, and Drafters, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth. Drive Excellence: Oversee the submittal creation process to meet and exceed corporate lead-time and quality goals, ensuring designs are optimized for cost-effectiveness, quality, and manufacturability. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the company's strategic plan, prepare departmental goals and objectives, and monitor performance to ensure alignment with our vision. Process Improvement: Champion the continuous improvement of engineering processes, focusing on automation, design standardization, and enhanced productivity. Collaborate for Success: Work closely with sales, manufacturing, and operations teams to support sales requests, troubleshoot post-shipment issues, and drive quality initiatives that reduce costs and improve product reliability. Manage Resources: Coordinate engineering schedules, prioritize projects based on sales and capacity, and manage departmental budgets effectively. Required Education & Qualifications A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of 7 years of management experience overseeing an engineering department within a manufacturing operation. A minimum of 3 years of experience in capital equipment. Sound knowledge and experience with desiccant and refrigeration technology is highly desired. Strong leadership capabilities with a proven ability to develop and build high-performing teams. Exceptional technical knowledge and the ability to find high-value solutions for new challenges. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. A customer-focused mindset with an understanding of the principles of excellent customer service. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one.
