ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM We are seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer with strong experience in payment terminals, payment industry standards, and customer-facing technical engagements. This role is responsible for understanding customer needs, defining technical solutions, supporting integrations and certifications, and acting as a key bridge between customers and internal teams, including Sales, Product, Support, and Development. The ideal candidate brings excellent communication skills, strong analytical thinking, and a highly adaptable mindset. They should be comfortable working under pressure in fast-paced environments while managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities effectively. WHAT YOU’LL DO Understand customer business and technical requirements, define appropriate technical solutions, and assess feasibility based on customer needs and company standards. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including project scope, solution flows, integrations, dependencies, implementation requirements, and risk assessments in English and/or Spanish. Act as a trusted technical advisor during customer engagements, workshops, presentations, demos, RFIs/RFPs, certifications, testing, troubleshooting, and production deployments. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Development, QA, Security, Support, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction. Support customers throughout integration, testing, certification, and go-live phases, while identifying opportunities for enhancements, change requests, and additional value-added services. Maintain accurate project and technical information in internal systems and stay up to date on payment industry trends, standards, regulations, competitors, and emerging technologies. Effectively manage multiple projects, priorities, customers, and deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. ABOUT YOUR SKILLS Strong knowledge of payment terminals, payment ecosystems, transaction flows, and payment application integrations. Experience with payment industry standards and protocols, including ISO8583 messaging, EMV standards, online/offline transaction processing, reversals, advice, batch uploads, and settlement/cash closing processes. Understanding of payment security and cryptography concepts, including DUKPT, 3DES/AES encryption, Master Session Key encryption, and PCI standards such as PCI DSS and PCI PTS. Experience with socket communications, client/server integrations, and troubleshooting within payment environments. Basic understanding of Android payment terminals and/or Linux/Tetra payment platforms. Experience with Ingenico solutions and tools is highly desirable, including Estate Manager/TEM, Manage360, TMS platforms, Android payment applications, and terminal estate management solutions. Previous experience supporting certifications with processors, acquirers, or payment brands is considered a strong advantage. Strong communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills. Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot effectively. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast-paced environments. Strong organizational, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Proactive, adaptable, service-oriented, and results-driven approach. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in the payment industry, including solution engineering, technical support, payment terminal integrations, and customer-facing technical roles. Experience working in cross-functional and customer-focused environments is highly desirable. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
