Join our vision of a low-carbon world and help make positive change! We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Niagara office. This role is a unique opportunity for a technically strong individual who also thrives in project leadership and business development. Our projects are primarily in the energy sector, ranging from large EPCM initiatives to smaller operations support engagements. You will play a key role in driving project success, building client relationships, and growing our business. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership Lead a team of Electrical Engineers, Designers, and CAD personnel to deliver high-quality electrical engineering and design work on time and within budget. Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and quality assurance for all electrical deliverables. Prepare and review calculations, equipment specifications, and vendor documentation. Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications Develop conceptual designs, studies, reports, and proposals. Prepares detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications Visit project sites and other Hatch design offices for project related activities as required Project Management Serve as the Project Manager or Engineering Lead on select projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and resource planning. Coordinate with multi-discipline teams to ensure seamless project execution. Track project metrics and proactively manage risks and issues. Ensure effective communication with internal teams and client stakeholders. Business Development Actively contribute to client relationship management, identifying new opportunities and maintaining ongoing engagement. Support proposal development, including scope definition, estimating, and client presentations. Collaborate with the team to develop strategic plans for market growth. Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and credibility. Responsibilities and Key Areas of Focus-may want to add these points in Technical Leadership section: Experience in the Hydropower Industry would be a great asset Familiarization with designing, and maintaining electrical systems in hydroelectric power plants Leading a team in the design of power systems, including diagrams, layouts and detailed drawings for switchgear, control panels and power distribution centers Selecting and sizing electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear amd control panels Testing and Commissioning-develop commissioning procedures and performing/supervise commissioning testing Familiarization with SCADA systems design and operation and other plant control systems Experience in CIA (Connection Impact Assessments) and SIA(System Impact Assessments Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or another Canadian province. 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in an EPCM environment for industrial or energy sector projects. Proven experience in project management and/or client-facing roles. Knowledge of industry, regulatory codes and standards Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and electrical design tools (e.g., SPEL, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, ASPEN). Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and dynamic environments. Advanced computer skills Base salary range: $86,000 - $135,000 At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
