Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior / Lead AI Developer to join our growing AI Engineering team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who is passionate about building enterprise-grade AI systems and agentic architectures using modern LLM frameworks and cloud-native technologies. This is a hybrid role (2-3 days in the office) located in Durham, NC. OR Pittsburgh The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Python development, distributed cloud architectures, databases, and modern AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph. This individual will play a key role in architecting and developing scalable AI platforms, mentoring engineers, and driving technical innovation across the organization. This position requires both strong technical depth and leadership capabilities. The candidate must be comfortable designing complex systems, collaborating with stakeholders, mentoring developers, and contributing directly to implementation. Responsibilities -Architect, design, and develop enterprise AI applications and agentic systems using Python and modern LLM frameworks Lead development of AI agents, orchestration workflows, MCP integrations, RAG pipelines, and intelligent automation services -Build scalable and secure cloud-native AI services within Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments -Design and implement multi-agent workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, and related orchestration technologies -Develop and optimize vector search, document processing, metadata extraction, and retrieval systems -Design scalable APIs, microservices, and asynchronous processing pipelines -Work closely with product, infrastructure, and compliance teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions -Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers through architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching -Establish engineering best practices around testing, observability, security, scalability, and AI governance -Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and models to drive innovation within the platform -Participate in roadmap planning, technical strategy, and sprint execution -Troubleshoot and optimize production AI workloads and distributed systems What We’re Building A cloud-native e-communications platform processing millions of messages daily. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
