Als Elektroingenieur*in sorge ich mithilfe von neu eingeführten Wartungskonzepten für eine uneingeschränkte Funktionsbereitschaft aller primärtechnischen Komponenten, insbesondere von Umspannwerken und Konvertern, im Netzgebiet des Regionalzentrums West in Sachsen-Anhalt und im nordwestlichen Brandenburg. Dieses umfasst die Region rund um unseren zentralen Standort in Wolmirstedt bei Magdeburg, zwischen Perleberg im Norden, Wittenberg im Osten und Hettstedt im Süden. Hier sind mir die örtlichen Gegebenheiten nach einer umfangreichen Einarbeitung so vertraut, dass ich jederzeit aussagekräftig bei verschiedenen Maßnahmen mitwirken kann. Meine Aufgaben: Planung, Steuerung, Ausführung sowie Abrechnung von Projekten unter Berücksichtigung von Kostenoptimierung und optimalem Personaleinsatz, Durchführen und fachliches Begleiten von Funktionsprüfungen, Projektleitende Verantwortung der Instandhaltung und Störungsbeseitigung an den primärtechnischen Komponenten unserer Hauptanlagen, Technische Beurteilung von Instandhaltungsmaßnahmen und von Neubauprojekten, Implementierung neuer Wartungskonzepte sowie Gestaltung von praxisnahen und verständlichen Schulungen für mein Team, Übernahme von Verantwortung als zentrale*r Fachspezialist*in und Ansprechperson für technische Grundsatzfragen im Bereich Primärtechnik, Sicherstellung der Einhaltung gesetzlicher, betrieblicher sowie HSE-Vorgaben, Zusammenarbeit im Team und bereichsübergreifend für die Entwicklung effizienter und nachhaltiger Lösungen in der Planung und Organisation. Meine Kompetenzen: Abgeschlossenes Studium der Elektrotechnik oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation, Idealerweise mehrjährige Berufserfahrung im Instandhaltungs- oder Störungsmanagement an Netzanlagen, Erfahrungen mit SAP PM / MM und sicherer Umgang mit MS Office, Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse (C1) und gute Englischkenntnisse (B1 – B2), Führerschein Klasse B. Kein Muss, aber von Vorteil: Projekterfahrungen (insbesondere vor, während und nach der technischen Inbetriebnahme von Anlagenteilen), Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Planungssoftware. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
