Das macht diesen Job für mich interessant: Die von mir betreute Sekundärtechnik schützt, steuert und überwacht Anlagen der Energieübertragung und -versorgung von der Niederspannungs- bis zur Höchstspannungs-Ebene. Die Höchstspannungsanlagen sind im Netzgebiet sowohl als Freiluftanlagen als auch als gasisolierte Schaltanlagen ausgeführt. Die Ausführungen der Arbeitsabläufe sind überwiegend standardisiert und erfolgen nach internen sowie externen Regelungen und Vorgaben. Hier setze ich mich mit stetigen Neuerungen auseinander und wirke bei der Standardisierung von Arbeitsabläufen mit. Mit meinem Team führe ich Instandhaltungsmaßnahmen und komplexe Funktionsprüfungen in der Sekundärtechnik sowie in den zugehörigen Einrichtungen durch – vor und nach der Inbetriebnahme von entsprechenden Anlagenteilen. Meine Aufgaben: Ich leite Prüfgruppen fachlich an oder führe eigenständig die Prüfung der Einzelkomponenten sowie Schutzprüfungen und Funktionsproben durch, Ich nehme an Werksprüfungen teil, Ich parametriere Einzelkomponenten und nehme diese in Betrieb, Ich behebe Störungen an Schutz- und Leittechnikgeräten, Ich sorge für die Qualitätssicherung und koordiniere sowohl projekt- als auch instandhaltungsbezogene Maßnahmen, Ich richte Arbeitsstellen ein und weise Fremdfirmen in ihre Arbeitsbereiche ein, Ich nehme am Bereitschaftssystem teil und unterstütze die Betriebsführung bei der Störungsbehebung an den sekundärtechnischen Anlagenteilen, Ich pflege die Dokumentation fortlaufend in SAP. Meine Kompetenzen: Eine abgeschlossene Techniker- oder Meisterausbildung im Bereich Elektro- oder Energietechnik ist wünschenswert, Kenntnisse im Betrieb von Anlagen der Mittel- oder Hochspannungstechnik sowie idealerweise Detailkenntnisse in der Schutz- und/oder Leittechnik, Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse (C1), Führerschein Klasse B, Flexibilität zu gelegentlichen mehrtägigen Dienstreisen. Kein Muss, aber von Vorteil: Erste relevante Berufserfahrung (ca. 1 bis 3 Jahre), Kenntnisse einschlägiger Prüf- und Parametriersoftware, Sicherer Umgang mit MS-Office und SAP, Gute Englischkenntnisse (B2). If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
