We are looking for a External Sales Engineer to join the Sales Department within our Melbourne operations. Endress+Hauser Australia is made up of over 130 dedicated employees across the country, with our national office located in Sydney, Australia. This role is a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity to support maternity leave cover. What is the role about? Do you have a technical background in engineering and instrumentation, specifically in the Food & Beverage industry ? Are you eager to use your expertise to drive sales and growth in new markets through collaboration? If you're ready to take on a dynamic role with a diverse customer portfolio, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! As a External Sales Engineer , you’ll work closely with our team of Sales Engineers, customers, and various departments to ensure everything is running smoothly. Your role will be critical in driving growth and sales within the current and new market, making you an essential part of our team. Which tasks will you perform? Regular customer interactions via face-to-face meetings and phone calls. Use C-360 (Salesforce) to plan and manage daily sales activities, including: Converting leads, managing opportunities from creation to execution, generating visit reports and maintaining sales forecasts and logging customer complaints in C-360. Achieving sales targets and KPIs. In-depth knowledge of product range, with technical understanding of features and benefits, tailored to industry needs. Strong understanding of market trends and industry sectors to identify new opportunities, specifically within the Food & Beverage industry. Building strong relationships with the allocated Internal Sales Engineer. Actively participating in internal meetings and training sessions. What do we expect from you? Appropriate tertiary qualifications in electrical and/or instrumentation disciplines from certificate to degree level. English proficiency in verbal, written and intrapersonal situations is a pre-requisite for this role. Have previous experience in a similar role with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets. Instrumentation experience and product knowledge, preferably Endress+Hauser. Ability to develop and successfully implement account plans, forecasts, reports and call plans. Strong business acumen with the ability to make good commercial decisions and to think outside the box. Computer literacy with working knowledge in all MS Office application and C-360 (Salesforce CRM) Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask. Have excellent attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks to completion. Provide exceptional customer service, both internally and externally. Are a team player who can collaborate effectively with others across departments. Able to confidently present in group settings.
