May include Architectural Design, Requirements Engineering, or others. Determine system specifications. Support acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed). Responsible for technical activity and completion of assigned task on time and budget Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments. Report of progress and status regularly Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements Develop prototypes to retire key development risks Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required Participates in preparation of less-complex proposals May provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings Job Responsibilities Part II Demonstrates familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools (e.g., Cameo, DOORS), or a willingness to learn and apply these practices. Develops skills in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) or advanced automation techniques to support engineering analysis and decision-making. Applies hands-on experience in subsystem development, including hardware, software, mechanical, and test components, taking ownership of assigned technical solutions. Capable of independently planning, executing, and leading smaller-scale projects or technical work packages. Shows initiative in exploring new methods, tools, or approaches under guidance from senior engineers. Contributes to team knowledge sharing, including lessons learned, research, or prototypes in emerging technologies such as MBSE and AI. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience Competent technical expertise and application domain knowledge Ability to work independently U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
