The Impact You'll Make Are you a student looking to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges? In this flexible student worker role, you will join our team to help shape the next generation of smart home technology, fitting your work around your studies. You will gain hands-on experience at the intersection of hardware and software, contributing to the security of our smart IoT devices . Your work will directly support our efforts to meet the upcoming Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) , a critical initiative for our future products. This is a unique opportunity to learn from industry experts, explore the use of AI in modern development, and make a tangible impact on the connected devices used in homes around the world. What You’ll Be Doing Support the design and implementation of security solutions to prepare our smart indoor climate controls for the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) Contribute to migrating software , including application and communication stacks, from legacy microcontrollers to modern, more capable platforms Help develop and test key security features like secure boot , over-the-air (OTA) updates, and firmware verification Assist with the verification and debugging of our embedded systems , from writing unit tests to troubleshooting directly on hardware Explore and apply AI tools to help streamline routine coding, accelerate debugging, and improve our overall development processes What We're Looking For Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field Coursework or project experience in embedded C programming and an interest in firmware development for IoT devices Familiarity with wireless communication protocols, such as Zigbee, Matter, BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN , or similar A foundational understanding of memory management for resource-constrained systems A strong interest in cybersecurity principles and a passion for learning how to build secure products If you are a motivated student ready to gain valuable industry experience, we encourage you to apply and help us build the future of indoor climate control. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
