The Impact You'll Make Danfoss is seeking a highly motivated and technically accomplished Senior NPD Engineer to lead complex New Product Development (NPD) initiatives within our Fluid Conveyance division. This role is responsible for driving innovation, leading strategic product development programs, and delivering technical solutions that support business growth and customer success. The Senior NPD Engineer is a technical leader who drives high-impact projects and innovation while supporting business goals through strong collaboration. This role combines engineering expertise and project leadership to guide products from concept to commercialization, working autonomously with global teams to execute development and optimization initiatives. What You’ll Be Doing Lead multiple large-scale New Product Development projects from concept through final qualification, ensuring on-time delivery and achievement of project objectives. Serve as Technical Leader for global localization, product rationalization, and strategic engineering initiatives. Lead and manage prototype development and validation activities at manufacturing sites, ensuring successful execution of product development milestones. Regular travel to production facilities is required to provide hands-on technical support, oversee trials, and facilitate effective collaboration with plant teams. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, supporting innovation, intellectual property development, and patent activities. Apply advanced engineering principles, industry standards, and development tools, including Design Rules, DFMEA, validation testing, technical reporting, and product documentation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and project management processes. Develop and maintain engineering standards, technical drawings, product specifications, and related documentation required for product launches. Define raw material and material specifications for new product development programs. Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve technical challenges and improve product performance. Provide technical leadership and support to Sales, Product Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Quality organizations. Represent NPD engineering during customer, supplier, and external stakeholder interactions. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in hose manufacturing, fluid conveyance, or product development environments. Experience with rubber and plastic extrusion processes is preferred. Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal; additional language skills are an advantage. Project Management certification is preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management capabilities. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and effectively work across organizational boundaries. Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), risk management, and product validation methodologies is highly desirable.
