Specialized in civil engineering and engineering structures, Bouygues Travaux Publics is one of the world leaders in the fields of land use planning and sustainable infrastructure construction. Bouygues Travaux Publics is committed to diversity and is open to all talents. The Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) is one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects. LTC is a new road that will connect Kent and Essex through a tunnel beneath the River Thames and will be the greenest road ever built in the UK - creating six times more green space than road. The reliable new route will almost double road capacity over the river east of London to reduce congestion and give millions of people more choice on where they live, work and spend their valuable time. We have a diverse programme team on LTC that reflects the communities we work in and fosters an inclusive culture by actively supporting the programme's Purpose, Principles and Cultural Pillars and growing employee networks. Job Title: Digital Engineering Coordinator (BIM) Reporting to: Digital Engineering Manager The Role We are seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to join the Tunnels & Approaches contract on the LTC project, working within the Digital team and reporting to the Digital Engineering Manager. This role is central to ensuring high-quality BIM data management throughout the design, construction and handover phases. You will be supporting the Digital Engineering Manager in the coordination of models from designers, subcontractors, and suppliers - with a particular focus on MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Information, Automation) scope. You will work across the project to unlock the value of BIM data, supporting teams in leveraging models for quantity take-offs, 4D scheduling simulations, carbon analysis, and construction planning using our Digital Construction platform, DALUX. This is a technical, detail-focused role that requires strong BIM fundamentals, coordination discipline, and the ability to work collaboratively with designers, contractors, and digital teams. Key Responsibilities Model Data Quality and Coordination Liaise closely with Designers to review, and quality-assure models prior to construction issue, checking for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project standards (including ISO 19650 and its related standards). Ensure design models are following the project Asset data requirements and monitor the asset tagging process prior to delivery for construction. Review models produced by supply chain partners and supplier. Ensure that they are all delivered in the project Common Data Environment and follows standards defined by the Exchange Information Requirements and Information Execution Plan. Work closely with both designers and suppliers to identify efficiency gains and apply good practices to avoid redundant work. Promote the use of parametric and data-driven modelling. Transfer Models from the Designers CDE to the project Digital Construction Platform, DALUX. Monitor that automated transfers are being performed effectively and flag any issues where required. BIM Data utilisation and analytics Work with Digital Engineering Manager and relevant project teams to assist in data extraction and scheduling required for re-estimating or carbon calculations. Facilitate the use of 4D simulations on the project by supporting the planning team in their use of models. Digital Awareness Promote the use of Models by all relevant project members. Ensure that the team can access models easily and are trained to use the agreed project toolset for Model visualisation. Perfom regular training sessions and produce training content to feed into the project Digital Learning Hub. Promote the wider use of digital solutions and ways of working on the project. Keep an open mind and manage conflict in a productive way to ensure that people feel empowered using technology rather than be overwhelmed by it. Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience working on construction projects (in the UK preferably) Proven experience in the production/management/coordination & validation of Graphical Information models on challenging construction projects Solid understanding of BIM principles and associated standards (ISO 19650 suite mainly) Familiarity with infrastructure, building services (MEP), or mixed-discipline project environments. Understanding of major projects workflows, processes, and team structures. Good technical and digital skills, with proven experience using tools such as Bentley iTwin, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, DALUX or any other model coordination and validation tools. Previous experience using 4D simulations tool such as Synchro 4D will be a plus Awareness of key data management principles and appetite for automation Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence across multiple disciplines and seniority levels.

Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

144.883Jobs

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
