We explore new application areas and develop industrial use cases across all divisions, including business applications and IT processes. During your internship, you will contribute to the development and industrialization of agentic applications that accelerate and optimize digitalization at the BMW Group. What awaits you? You will support our professional, experienced, and international AI team in developing cutting-edge agentic applications. Furthermore, you help to develop features for agentic applications in IT and business use cases. In addition, you assist in exploring and implementing the latest agentic and Generative AI algorithms, protocols, and techniques to optimize business-relevant metrics. Moreover, you contribute to researching the latest developments in the agentic and Generative AI space. You will also help implement relevant techniques and protocols such as Model Context Protocol (MCP), Agent-to-Agent (A2A), and Agent-to-UI protocols. What should you bring along? Studies in computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical field. Strong coding experience in Python (mandatory); experience with frontend engineering frameworks such as Angular is advantageous. Previous experience in building agentic applications (mandatory). Experience with Generative AI and agentic protocols such as Model Context Protocol (MCP), Agent-to-Agent (A2A), and Agent-to-UI (AG-UI) protocols is highly desired. Experience with LLM and Agentic AI SDK frameworks such as Langchain, Langgraph, CrewAI, PydanticAI, and OpenAI Agents SDK is highly desired. Knowledge about agent harnesses and long-running agents; experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure is beneficial. The internship requires onsite presence in Munich; fluent English skills, German beneficial. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
