Job Summary The Market Developer focuses on expanding market presence through contractor and distributor support, product education, and community engagement. This entrepreneurial role emphasizes local market expertise and autonomy, allowing the individual to operate their territory like their own business. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with strong technical knowledge and presentation skills in the perimeter security field. The ideal candidate would be located in the DMV Metro or Baltimore, MD area. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage contractor accounts to drive adoption and sales of products. Provide support to local distributors, including troubleshooting and resource allocation. Offer on-site jobsite assistance to ensure proper installation and product performance. Conduct product training sessions for contractors, distributors, and end-users. Build relationships within the design community, including architects and engineers. Deliver AIA-accredited presentations and product demonstrations to promote solutions. Maintain in-depth knowledge of local market dynamics, competitors, and opportunities. Operate with autonomy, treating the territory as your own business to maximize growth and efficiency. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). 3+ years of experience in market development, sales, or technical support in the construction or security industry. Technical expertise in perimeter security products, including fencing and access control systems. Experience with jobsite support, training, and presentations (AIA certification a plus). Ability to travel frequently within the local market for site visits and events. (Up to 40%) Strong problem-solving skills and customer service orientation. Proficiency in presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint) and basic CRM tools. Skills and Competencies Account development and relationship building. Technical training and presentation delivery.
