Position overview Join allnex and play a key role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. In this role, you will lead capital projects, support automation and process improvement initiatives, strengthen process safety and mechanical integrity programs, and help optimize plant operations. Responsibilities Ensures all personal activities adhere to Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Standards and demonstrates Visible Safety Leadership through repeated Plant walkthroughs. Defines scope/planning and serves as project manager for Capital Project improvements as well as manages financial aspects of the site’s capital improvement plan. Leads Automation efforts and responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and fully utilizing control systems as well as providing off-hours support if needed. Conducts Process Safety Management activities such as management of change, process hazards analyses, pre-startup safety reviews, etc. Leads Mechanical Integrity program by interacting with 3rd Party engineers and inspectors to schedule and conduct inspections, interpret reports, and drive the execution of follow-up actions. Manages site Maintenance department including short-term planning as well as execution of numerous projects and activities during shutdowns and turnarounds. Provides leadership through Contractor Management to ensure work completed meets Allnex SHE and engineering standards. Aligns with Operations personnel and conducts activities such as chemistry and chemical process troubleshooting to aid meeting production goals. Drives Continuous Improvement through tools such as six sigma, lean, workout, etc. Supports Quality Management System efforts through ownership of detailed operating procedures, execution of corrective actions, and participation in internal audit programs. Required skills and experience 5-7 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment. Experience in a Chemical Manufacturing environment is highly preferred. Detailed, results oriented, and able to thrive in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and develop plans to execute to satisfy daily operational needs while maintaining focus on longer-term strategic needs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
