For our Engineering Team in Germany we are looking for a Project Manager - Engineering (m/f/d) located in Metzingen (Stuttgart Area) POSITION SUMMARY: The Project Manager ensures on-time delivery of products to finished goods as scheduled by Advanced Energy’s committed shipment date, improves Advanced Energy’s ability to meet customer delivery requirements by understanding Plasma Power capacity, identifying constraints, risks, and actively reducing lead times (availability), and minimizes Advanced Energy’s investment in raw and finished material inventory where appropriate. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead NPD projects and cross-functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing Global Service and Quality. Manage schedules, risks, KPIs, and deliverables to ensure on-time performance and product readiness. Serve as the primary stakeholder interface for NPD program updates. Partner with Manufacturing and Procurement to ensure material availability and factory build readiness. Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) alignment, quality targets, and cycle-time improvements with Design and Manufacturing Engineering. Document program work, escalate risks, and drive issues to closure. Support RFQs (Request for Quotation) and sustaining program proposals as needed. Please note that we expect the position holder to be working in Metzingen, Germany – on site. Some travels will become necessary. EXPERIENCE / SKILLS: Master degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar degree Experience as a Project Manager with a proven track-record of project management Strong analytical and problem-solving tools Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate cross‑functionally. Highly organized, self‑driven, and able to manage multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
