Schaeffler's Pressure and Flow Business is a leading supplier of automotive Silicon Micro-Machined (MEMS) based Sensors. We are expanding into new sensing technologies and markets. As part of this growth, we are looking to strengthen our development team with an energetic and creative MEMS design engineer who will be passionate about driving innovation and application of MEMs technology in our portfolio. Your Responsibilities: As an engineering expert your tasks will include but not limited to: Support existing production MEMs suppliers by leading problem-solving activity and driving the implementation of continuous improvement ideas Support R&D projects through MEMs device characterization, coordination of prototype builds, product evaluation testing, and data analysis Participate in design activities including layout, DFMEA, DFM, & executing risk mitigation plans Update and develop core sensing element engineering specifications Conduct sensing element experiments and write engineering reports Participate in cross functional sensor application development teams Your Qualifications: Requirements for the position (e.g. training, experience, education, etc.): Bachelor's degree, and Masters degree (MS) in an engineering field required. Ph.D. in engineering preferred. 5-10+ years of Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System (MEMS) design and testing experience required. Demonstrated knowledge regarding the principles of MEMS and micro-fabrication. Demonstrated knowledge regarding electrical engineering, mechanics of materials, and solid-state device physics Solid written and oral communication skills Able to take initiative and work in a matrixed team environment. Highly organized and able to resolve complex data into concrete actions Demonstrated skills regarding Design of Experiments (DOE) and similar statistical methods for MEMS characterization or testing results External applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
