Job Overview SR R&D/PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER is responsible for developing cable assembly products from concept to mass production. The role requires close collaboration with customers, Project Managers, and Sales teams to understand and define product requirements, as well as leading product design, qualification, validation, and certification activities to ensure successful product launch and production readiness. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with Product Management, Sales, and NPI/Operations teams to support the Industrial Cable and Cable Assembly business. Participate in new product development and sustaining engineering activities for industrial cables and cable assemblies, translating customer requirements into internal technical diagrams, drawings, and specifications.Serve as a technical consultant for a range of product development, design, and sustaining engineering projects, both internally and externally. Lead and manage cross-functional engineering projects, collaborating with Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet customer expectations, timelines, and financial objectives. Collaborate closely with suppliers and Product Development Engineers for connectors and bulk cable products. Partner with NPI/Operations and Supply Chain teams to successfully launch new cable assembly products within established timelines. Provide support for product training, sample builds, and customer service activities as needed.Prepare and maintain technical reports and engineering documentation. Demonstrate strong knowledge of cable and cable assembly product design, development, and customization for industrial applications. Possess knowledge of industrial low-, medium-, and high-voltage cables, as well as data and power cable technologies. Maintain a strong understanding of industrial connector products, including TE Connectivity solutions and competitor offerings. What your background should look like Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in product development. Proven experience leading projects and coordinating cross-functional teams. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Hands-on experience in cable and cable assembly design, with the ability to work independently. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, data analysis, and product improvement skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience working closely with manufacturing/factory teams. Professional proficiency in English is required. Mandarin/Chinese language skills preferred. Competencies SET : Strategy, Execution, Talent (for managers)
