Job Overview The Senior Manager, Engineering Methodology & Tools leads the development and evolution of engineering methodologies, tools, and processes that enable scalable, high-quality product development across the organization. This role is responsible for advancing modern engineering practices—including AI-enabled productivity, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and workflow transformation—to improve engineering effectiveness and accelerate innovation. Working closely with engineering leadership, product development teams, and cross-functional partners, this role drives the standardization and continuous improvement of engineering practices to ensure the organization remains competitive with rapidly evolving customer and market demands in high-speed connectivity and data center infrastructure. In addition to methodology and process leadership, the role oversees engineering capability development through scalable onboarding programs, early-career talent incubation, and initiatives that strengthen collaboration, knowledge sharing, and engineering culture across global teams. Responsibilities: Engineering Methodology & Process Excellence Lead the development and evolution of standardized engineering design methodologies that enable scalable, high-quality product development. Establish engineering frameworks, best practices, and governance across product teams to improve consistency, repeatability, and execution discipline. Engineering Productivity, Digital & AI Enablement Drive adoption of advanced digital engineering tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve engineering productivity and design efficiency. Partner with IT and engineering leadership to integrate modern digital engineering capabilities into core development workflows. Workflow Transformation & Continuous Improvement Lead initiatives to improve engineering operating models, workflows, and development processes to better support market and customer needs. Identify systemic barriers impacting development speed and drive continuous improvement initiatives to accelerate product development cycles. Design Quality & DFSS Leadership Champion Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) practices across engineering teams to strengthen product quality, reliability, and risk management. Develop DFSS capability through certification programs and integration into product development processes. Engineering Knowledge Management & Design Reuse Establish engineering documentation standards, technical knowledge management practices, and lessons-learned processes across development programs. Promote modular architectures, reusable design platforms, and design reuse strategies to reduce duplication and improve development speed. Engineering Talent Development & Engagement Lead scalable onboarding and capability development programs for engineering talent across product teams. Foster a strong engineering culture through engagement initiatives, cross-team collaboration, and global knowledge sharing. Candidate Desired Profile: Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field required Master’s degree or advanced technical training preferred Experience 10+ years of engineering experience in product development, engineering systems, or process improvement Demonstrated experience implementing engineering methodologies, development frameworks, or quality systems Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or similar structured design methodologies Experience leading cross-functional engineering initiatives or engineering transformation programs Skills & Capabilities Strong understanding of engineering development processes and product lifecycle management Experience implementing digital engineering tools, automation, or AI-enabled productivity solutions Ability to lead organizational change related to engineering processes and workflows Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence across global engineering teams Experience developing engineering talent and building scalable training or capability programs Ability to balance strategic transformation initiatives with practical implementation across engineering organizations What your background should look like Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with 12 or more years of experience; or Masters with 10 or more years of experience; or PhD level with 6 or more years of experience; or local equivalent Competencies SET : Strategy, Execution, Talent (for managers) ABOUT TE CONNECTIVITY TE Connectivity plc (NYSE: TEL) is a global industrial technology leader creating a safer, sustainable, productive, and connected future.
