Job Purpose Engineer, Operational Safety is responsible for carrying out operational safety related work. The job holder provides advice and technical supports to overall PTTEP operational sites in compliance with company’s SSHE policies, standards & procedures. He/she participates in conducting independent investigations, analyzing underlying of accidents/near misses to recommend remedial actions. He/She promotes safety awareness and implementation within all PTTEP operational sites. He/She should able to perform audit/inspection of contractor and vendor at their operational sites. Key Accountabilities • Provide operational Occupational Health & Safety related advice and technical supports to site personnel involved in all operations. Also provide SSHE technical support to all departments. • Assist/ facilitate in conducting independent investigations into accidents/near misses of real or potential impact (to the company assets, personnel, environment, or reputation) or work-related diseases when required; analyze underlying cause and consequence by Cause Tree Analysis (CTA), Tripod Beta methodology, etc. and recommend and monitor follow-up of all remedial actions. • Lead in SSHE Contractor audit at PTTEP premises or at contractor yard worldwide. • Conduct SSHE inspections and audits, following up on findings and recommendations until closure. • Conduct regular audit inspections to ensure compliance with PTTEP standards, regulatory requirements, etc. • Analyse audit findings and propose appropriate corrective and preventive actions to address identified issue. • Demonstrate safety leadership and promote safety awareness among PTTEP employees. • Maintain and update a log of accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts and conditions. • Track and analyse SSHE Performance. • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annually SSHE performance/SSHE Plan and submit to CSH. • Create new safety initiatives to improve PTTEP SSHE performance. • Develop new/ revise safety standard/ procedure/ guideline under PTTEP SSHE MS. • Facilitate the implementation of Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) program, Human and Organisational Program (HOP), Leaning From Normal Work (LFNW). • Participate/ facilitate in risk assessment session and can demonstrate risk mitigation into ALARP concept. • Familiar with relevant SSHE legislation. Ability to interpret and apply legal framework in workplace. • Conduct SSHE training course and deliver good quality safety training. • Maintain and develop technical network and good relationship among professional disciplines and external parties to optimize good cooperation and support. • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives and resolve issues effectively. Professional Knowledge & Experiences • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Engineering or Occupational Health and Safety Science. • Minimum of five year experience in oil and gas industry. • Minimum of five year experience of safety related field. • Good knowledge of safety operations/engineering. • Good interpersonal and analytical skills. • Good command of spoken and written English. Additional Desirable Qualification Professional Safety Officer certificate is an advantage. Strong presentation and communication skills. Strong problem-solving and analytic thinking skills plus learning mindset.
