With Heart. • Lead, supervise, and develop the Engineering & Maintenance team to achieve departmental and site objectives. • Ensure timely resolution of equipment breakdowns, technical issues, and utility system failures to minimize production downtime. • Plan, organize, and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Develop and implement engineering solutions, reliability improvement programs, and maintenance strategies to improve equipment performance and plant efficiency. • Manage maintenance work schedules, manpower allocation, contractors, and external service providers. • Ensure maintenance tools, spare parts, equipment, machinery, and utilities are maintained in good operating condition. • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). • Manage engineering and maintenance budgets, including cost control, CAPEX, and OPEX expenditures. • Monitor and report engineering KPIs, including equipment availability, downtime, maintenance compliance, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs. • Support plant improvement projects, equipment installation, modification, commissioning, and expansion activities. • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and HSE teams to improve site performance and reliability. • Ensure compliance with company policies, engineering standards, legal requirements, and all applicable HSE regulations. • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure risk assessments and safe work practices are effectively implemented. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability, operational efficiency, productivity, and energy performance. • Prepare engineering reports, maintenance performance reviews, and improvement recommendations for management. • Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by management. • Ensure the accountabilities of the HSE function are implemented in accordance with QM-001. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
