Business Development / Technical Sales Manager Automated Lubrication Systems – Engineered Solutions (SKF Lubrication Lifetime Solutions) Location: UK (with regional and key account travel) Role Type: Permanent | Full-time About the Role SKF Lubrication Lifetime Solutions (LLS) is strengthening its solutions-led approach and is looking for a Business Development / Technical Sales Manager to drive growth in engineered automated lubrication systems. This role focuses on identifying, shaping, and securing complex, high-value engineered solutions projects within heavy industry, combining strong technical credibility with commercial acumen to position SKF as a long-term reliability and lifecycle partner. Key Responsibilities • Proactively identify and develop engineered automated lubrication opportunities • Lead early-stage technical discussions and solution concept development • Translate customer challenges into engineered SKF lubrication system solutions • Develop value-based technical and commercial proposals, including ROI and lifecycle cost justifications • Own or co-own complex opportunities through to order intake • Support handover to project delivery, commissioning, and service teams • Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, distributors, and key end-user customers Industry Focus Primary industries: Metals, Pulp & Paper, Energy, Marine Secondary industry: Food & Beverage What we expect you to have • Solid background in automated lubrication systems or related technologies (e.g. hydraulics) • Experience or application knowledge within heavy industrial environments • Technical sales or business development experience • Ability to translate customer problems into engineered system concepts • Confidence in leading early-stage technical and commercial discussions • Consultative, solutions-led selling approach with commercial curiosity • Ability to manage both short-cycle and long-cycle sales opportunities Would be an asset: • Exposure to reliability engineering or asset management • Experience with engineered or capital project delivery Role Impact This role is critical to increasing engineered solutions penetration, improving margin quality, strengthening long-term reliability partnerships, and driving service and lifecycle revenue growth while reducing reactive, component-driven sales.
