This role will be responsible for monitoring customer quality performance, scorecards, and external quality indicators, as well as coordinating customer complaints, field returns, containment actions, engineering change validations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Main Responsibilities Monitor customer portals, including customer performance, scorecards, and certifications, and coordinate improvement actions based on customer requirements and performance. Monitor customer quality indicators, including BIQ, QR, Severity Score, and Delivery Rating, ensuring performance remains within established objectives. Attend and respond to customer complaints and field returns according to the established response and closure timeframe. Analyze external scrap trends and establish containment and continuous improvement actions to reduce external scrap. Lead engineering change and tooling replacement validations with the customer through PPAP submission, customer review, and approval. Follow up on customer validations, ensuring that generated validations are completed according to established requirements and timelines. Coordinate quality activities to minimize customer line downtime resulting from quality issues. Ensure the deployment of containment actions for customer quality issues within less than 24 hours. Attend scheduled customer meetings according to the established frequency and follow up on customer requirements, commitments, and action items. Lead monthly PFMEA and Control Plan audits, ensuring compliance with the established annual PFMEA plan. Develop and implement systemic actions to prevent the recurrence of quality problems. Coordinate the horizontal deployment of lessons learned and preventive actions across applicable processes and areas. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer quality issues and ensure timely implementation of corrective, containment, and improvement actions. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field. Experience in Quality Engineering, Customer Quality, or a related role within the automotive industry. Experience managing customer complaints, field returns, containment actions, and customer requirements. Knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, and automotive quality tools. Experience with customer quality indicators, scorecards, and continuous improvement activities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience with engineering change and tooling replacement validations. English: Advanced proficiency, with the ability to communicate with international customers. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
