You will lead the development of end-to-end data pipelines, drive technical excellence within Azure-based data platforms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality data solutions. This role also plays a key part in continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring efficient data operations and supporting Agile delivery practices. As a Data Engineer Manager, you will: • Design, develop, maintain, and support end-to-end data pipelines and workflows across Azure-based platforms • Build scalable, secure, and cost-effective data solutions that meet business requirements and data quality standards • Lead and contribute to ETL/ELT development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement activities • Support platform configuration, deployments, and change promotions across development, testing, and production environments • Provide technical support for incident resolution, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-deployment activities • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, IT teams, and external partners to deliver high-quality data services • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to enable efficient deployment and release processes • Ensure technical documentation, data governance requirements, and engineering standards are maintained and updated • Drive process improvements, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to service enhancements across the data landscape • Support people leadership activities, including coaching, mentoring, and professional development of team members where applicable Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, data modeling, reporting, and data platform development • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Technical Lead capacity, leading Azure-based data engineering initiatives and delivery governance • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure technologies including Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, Azure SQL, and SSIS • Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps • Strong understanding of SQL, ETL/ELT processes, software development lifecycle, and data architecture concepts • Exposure to IT architecture and data flows between systems is an advantage • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and multicultural environment • Fluent in written and spoken English Are you ready to join us? If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
