Your Mission As a Field Service Engineer, your mission is to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of HOERBIGER compressors, engines, and associated systems by delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. You will play a critical role in strengthening customer trust and ensuring operational excellence at both in-house and customer sites. How you will make a difference By independently executing service tasks that keep customer operations running smoothly and efficiently. By diagnosing faults accurately and recommending technical improvements that enhance plant performance and reduce downtime. By ensuring all service jobs are completed to HOERBIGER quality, safety, and compliance standards. By maintaining timely and accurate documentation in ESM and other reporting tools to support transparency and traceability. By taking ownership of assigned jobs—from planning and parts preparation to execution and closure—ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business. By contributing to the continuous improvement of service processes and upholding HOERBIGER service standards at all times. What you should be good at Technical proficiency in compressors, Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues quickly and effectively. Reading and interpreting service manuals, technical drawings, and standard operating procedures. Managing service documentation (reports, inspection sheets, time sheets) with accuracy and attention to detail. Using IT tools and systems such as ESM for project tracking and reporting. Maintaining a high level of safety awareness and adhering to Quality, Safety & Environment Management System requirements. Organizing work efficiently, managing tools and equipment responsibly, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Communicating clearly with customers, colleagues, and supervisors. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
