Tackle big issues like cyber, trust, resilience and digital transformation Mentoring, coaching and leadership programs to help you make an impact that matters Step into this Senior Consultant opportunity in Sydney, working in a hybrid model on critical firewall operations that help keep enterprise services secure, stable and running smoothly. What will your typical day look like? Much of your work will centre on the day-to-day operation and optimisation of Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama. That includes monitoring health, performance and capacity, resolving Level 2 and 3 incidents, and carrying out root cause analysis to address recurring issues. You'll also support upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation and lifecycle activities in a way that protects platform stability and reduces operational risk. A key part of the role is strengthening the security posture of the environment through thoughtful policy and rule base management. You'll review and refine firewall policies, remove redundant or overly permissive rules, and help ensure controls align with security standards and governance requirements. Your work will directly support secure connectivity, incident response, audit readiness and resilient network services across the enterprise. The role brings plenty of variety and collaboration, with close engagement across network operations, cyber security teams, change forums and other technical stakeholders. You'll contribute operational standards, runbooks and best practices, support major incidents and after-hours maintenance where needed, and bring a steady hand to high availability environments, failover testing and centralised policy deployment through Panorama. About the team Secure Networks Operations helps maintain the network security services that underpin Deloitte's enterprise environment. The team looks after critical firewall and connectivity controls, balancing stability, governance and security while supporting ongoing improvement across the platform. It's a hands-on operational team where strong technical judgement, collaboration and disciplined execution all matter. Enough about us, let's talk about you You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences: 5+ years of enterprise firewall operations experience, including at least 3 years working hands-on with Palo Alto Networks firewalls Strong experience administering Palo Alto NGFW and Panorama in operational environments, App-ID, User-ID, Device-ID, SSL Decryption, WildFire, URL Filtering, DNS Security, GlobalProtect Proven capability across policy reviews, rule optimisation, policy clean-up and security governance Solid understanding of routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, NAT, TCP/IP and IPSec VPN technologies Experience supporting high availability firewall environments, upgrades, patching and vulnerability remediation Confidence troubleshooting network security incidents and working through complex technical issues with a calm, methodical approach Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and support junior engineers Nice to have: PCNSE, Panorama administration experience, ITIL Foundation, AWS networking exposure, Prisma Access, proxy or secure web gateway experience Why Deloitte?
