Your area of work: As a Functional Analyst for Tokenization, you will be part of Clearstream IT’s DLT Center of Excellence, following the ambition to shape the future of financial markets. With a focus on DLT, tokenization and on-chain processes of tokenized instruments, you will be sitting at the intersection of business, technology, and regulatory, connecting traditional CSD business processes with a state-of-the art decentralized technology. You will be responsible for translating the business requirements into the functional and technical requirements. You will cooperate with business analysts defining together the functional requirements and with software and smart contract engineers during the technical design and implementation. You will have an active role as well in the acceptance process jointly with the testing team. Over time it is expected that you combine your functional knowledge with the technical expertise of the software engineering team and will be able to quickly assess feasibility and complexity of different alternatives at the early stages of different projects. Your responsibilities: Communicate actively with business owners, product teams, legal experts, and business analysts across different departments to understand, shape, and structure the requirements for tokenization (e.g., smart contract logic, lifecycle management) and custody (e.g., key management, wallet architectures). Understand the potential, as well as the unique limitations, of existing legacy processes/platforms and modern blockchain infrastructures (both public and private permissioned networks) and to translate them into solution designs. Capture, design, and document functional requirements, workflows, and state-machine transitions in a highly detailed, clear, and structured format (e.g., user stories, sequence diagrams, API mappings, smart contract design). Provide support to the software engineers and developers in the DLT team for them to understand and properly implement the requirements as well as for you to understand the technological limitation. Participate in the testing as well as in investigations and resolution of production incidents Stay open-minded and understand the broad context of implementing and operating software components in a highly regulated environment. Your profile: University degree (Bc.) in IT, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field. 5+ years of overall professional experience in functional analysis and testing, ideally in the financial market industry. Hands-on experience in DLT, tokenization (ERC standards, tokenized securities), or digital asset custody (MPC wallets, HSM, multisig setups). Familiarity with smart contract logic, wallet infrastructure, and the core concepts of public/private blockchains (Ethereum, EVM-compatible chains, Hyperledger Besu etc.). Familiarity with token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155) and specifically regulated/security token standards (e.g., ERC-1400, ERC-3643 / T-REX). Familiarity with digital asset compliance requirements (e.g., Crypto Travel Rule standards, on-chain identity/verifiable credentials). Strong knowledge of various DLT-based payment mechanisms and settlement instruments (e.g., regulated stablecoins, CBDCs, and collateral coins). Proficiency in related tools and techniques such as Jira, GitHub, BPMN workflow modelling. Highly analytical mind-set and creative, solution- oriented thinking – You are able to actively listen and quickly understand arguments and goals of different stakeholder and to transform them into solution designs. Excellent communication skills – You explain the business/functional topics in a manner understandable to people without the business background. You do not hesitate to ask questions, express your doubts or kindly challenge ideas during discussions. You have no problem to admit and accept mistakes. High degree of self-dependence – You are self-motivated, looking for opportunities to improve things or your own skills constantly. You take responsibility and are motivated to deliver. Team player – You are able to work with people of different backgrounds and personalities; you are happy to help and share your expertise. You appreciate the skills of others and ask for opinion or review easily. Excellent written and spoken English skills. Would be an advantage: Previous experience in settlement/post-trading, incl. understanding of relevant products and asset classes as well as related lifecycle events. Familiarity with the ECB system (TARGET2, Pontes…) and the regulatory frameworks underneath (e.g. eWpG). Experience with SWIFT ISO15022 and ISO20022. Organizational and coordination skills. Understanding the advantages and limitations of test automation. Ability to motivate and steer people coming from different backgrounds (Dev, Business, Product etc.).
