Your area of work: Your regular responsibilities within the product team will include the daily technical operation (monitoring, deployment, infrastructure administration) of our SaaS applications M7 Trading & M7 Auction, middleware and related systems primarily on-premise. Your long-term initiatives will focus on the improvement of our infrastructure architecture and automation systems with aim of improving product operability and reliability. As a DevOps Engineer and core product team member, you will automate and enhance process and procedures within this field of responsibility using state-of-the-art instrumentation thereby ensuring stable and consistent production environments. You will be encouraged to propose new methods for operations demonstrating new technological advancements and their benefits to our products. You will be a key operations stakeholder, representing the needs of your product’s operability, sustainability, and performance. Your responsibilities: Full stack responsibility of infrastructure and applications (automate, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot). Current technology stack: On-premises setup with VMware VMs, RedHat 8, Ansible/Jenkins, self-developed Java/Kotlin applications, Kafka, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL Operational duties include 24/7 production support shift duty and on-call shifts distributed among the team (an average of two one-week shifts and two one-week on-call duties per month will be expected). Monitor infrastructure and applications metrics via monitoring/observability systems (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch) to ensure performance/capacity management, etc. maintain and extend implementation of metrics-based monitoring systems. Deployment and support of internally developed applications as well as third party software from test stage up to production environment. Systems administration of application hosts: upgrading, patching, and tuning, capacity and performance management. Contribute to evaluation and development of initiatives in the DevOps area, including various automation and containerization. Counterpart for development in architectural design and advice. Your profile: University degree in Information Technology or equivalent OR 3+ years prior experience technical operations of high critical environments Willingness to work with a classical on-prem stack but also ability to improve it towards containerization (will take some time due to 24/7 critical infrastructure and its regulation) Expertise in RedHat Enterprise Linux (installation, system monitoring and maintenance, tuning and troubleshooting, etc.) Experience with automation, software deployment, orchestration technologies and continuous integration & delivery (most relevant being: Ansible, Jenkins, etcd, Git, GitHub) Be able to take responsibility and deliver results autonomously, sometimes under time pressure Team player who likes to share knowledge and tasks with the team and other peers. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
