The Market Surveillance Office of EEX monitors exchange trading to ensure the adherence to our rules and regulations, as well as national and international law. We are looking for a new senior legal advisor to join our Investigations Team. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues from different disciplines, providing legal expertise across a broad range of regulatory and surveillance-related matters and actively contributing to the integrity of energy markets. Your tasks: Provide internal legal advice to the Market Surveillance team on regulatory and compliance-related matters Draft legal opinions and written legal assessments on complex regulatory issues Contribute legal analyses to investigation reports, including assessments of potential market abuse Explain and represent the work and results of Market Surveillance vis-à-vis external supervisory and regulatory authorities Monitor, analyse and interpret new and existing regulatory requirements (e.g. EU energy and financial market regulation) Engage in professional exchange with legal experts at other exchanges, authorities and institutions regarding the implementation and application of applicable regulations Support the continuous development of internal processes and legal standards within Market Surveillance After all, we value the exchange of ideas, being there for each other and encouraging continuous improvement — we call it the exchange mindset.
