Information Technology Support Technician PAY RANGE: $60,000 - $75,000 / YEAR Compensation is determined based on your experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, performance-based increases, and bonuses. REPORTS TO: IT and Communications Manager STATUS: Exempt PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT The Information Technology Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the technology infrastructure that supports grain operations across company facilities. This position ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of hardware, software, network systems, grain automation equipment, and operational technologies. The Grain Information Technology Support Technician partners with Grain Operations, Accounting, Customer Service, and Information Technology personnel to minimize downtime, improve operational efficiency, and support business continuity during both normal operations and peak harvest seasons. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provide first- and second-level technical support for users at grain facilities and corporate offices. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, monitors, and mobile devices. Configure user accounts, passwords, permissions, and Microsoft 365 applications. Respond to help desk requests and document resolutions in the company's ticketing system. Maintain inventory of IT hardware, software licenses, and technology assets. Assist with workstation deployments, equipment replacements, and hardware lifecycle management. Support grain scale software, grain accounting systems, inventory management applications, and customer service technologies. Troubleshoot grain scale hardware, ticket printers, barcode scanners, cameras, and peripheral equipment. Assist with maintaining grain automation systems, PLC interfaces, and terminal operating technologies. Coordinate with software vendors to resolve application issues. Support electronic grain contracts, scale ticket processing, and data integration between business systems. Assist in maintaining local area networks (LAN), wireless networks, VPN connections, and internet connectivity. Configure and troubleshoot switches, routers, wireless access points, and network cabling. Monitor system performance and report infrastructure issues. Assist with server maintenance, backups, disaster recovery testing, and system upgrades. Assist with software updates, antivirus protection, security patches, and endpoint protection. Help identify and respond to potential security threats. Assist with technology implementation projects at new and existing grain locations. Test new hardware and software prior to implementation. Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and operating procedures. Communicate system outages, maintenance schedules, and technology updates. REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Agricultural Technology, or related field preferred. Two (2) or more years of technical support or IT experience preferred. Experience supporting Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking, printers, and mobile devices. Knowledge of grain operations, grain accounting software, or agricultural technology is a plus. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
