The role As a Lifeguard, you'll be responsible for providing professional pool supervision and life-saving cover, helping to support military training activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety. Day-to-day, you will be: Monitoring the swimming pool and training activities at all times whilst on duty. Carrying out poolside and changing room safety checks following swimming sessions. Ensuring pool safety operating procedures are followed and maintained. Attending regular training sessions to maintain operational readiness. Maintaining your fitness levels and keeping your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification current. Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role. This is a permanent, zero-hours position based onsite at Bovington. Working hours are offered as required, with the role typically averaging 8–12 hours per week. Essential experience of the Lifeguard: Previous lifeguarding experience. Confident swimming ability and the ability to pass a swimming assessment. Experience working within a safety-focused environment. Strong observation skills and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Qualifications for the Lifeguard: Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (EDBS) security clearance for this role.
