The role supports safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while ensuring compliance with quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), environmental requirements, and company policies. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining product quality, inventory accuracy, and operational reliability. Position Details: The starting hourly rate for this role is $43.11 Availability to work varying schedules, including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holiday coverage as required. What You’ll Be Doing: Operate deodorizing, bleaching, oil transfer, vacuum, refrigeration, steam generation, and wastewater treatment systems. Maximize processing efficiency while meeting safety, quality, yield, environmental, and cost targets. Monitor and control oil inventory levels, movements, and distribution. Perform routine quality checks, sampling, and testing of oils and related products. Maintain and operate the GEKA steam generator and associated utilities. Monitor equipment performance and ensure systems are operating safely and efficiently. Record production data, inventory movements, quality results, and operational activities in SAP and required reports. Complete routine housekeeping inspections and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Report equipment issues, operational concerns, incidents, spills, or safety hazards in accordance with company procedures. Comply with all GMP, food safety, environmental, and workplace safety requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as required. Skill/Experience Requirements: Third Class Operating Engineer Certification is required. Valid Ontario Class G driver's license (or equivalent). Experience operating industrial processing equipment, utility systems, or production processes is considered an asset. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and quality standards. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document operational data and inventory information. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during periods without direct supervision. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection, and comply with fit-testing requirements. Commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant operating environment. Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
