Summary A new laboratory studying the genetic and immunological causes of human disease, with a focus on immune deficiency, immune dysregulation, and EBV-driven malignancy. The lab is seeking a curious, energetic, and passionate postdoctoral fellow who can thrive in a fast-paced and evolving research environment. The Postdoctoral Associate is responsible, self-motivated, proactive in learning, embraces challenges with enthusiasm, and values teamwork. The PI is committed to the Postdoctoral Associate career development that includes mentorship, project ownership, fellowship and career award sponsorship. For more information: The Laboratory of Genetics of Human Immunity | BCM Baylor College of Medicine typically follows similar to the NIH stipulated stipend guidelines for Postdoctoral Associates. Job Duties Assists with routine lab duties when designated lab members are on vacation or leave. Takes ownership of assigned projects that includes their intellectual, scientific, and technical development. Accepts feedback, continues learning and refines approaches, and produces rigorous, high-quality, impactful work. Pursues career development that includes scientific writing, grant preparation, fellowship or career award applications, presentations, and long-term career planning. Contributes to the development of novel technical platforms for broader lab use when aligned with the fellow’s own project and expertise. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field. No experience required. Preferred Qualifications MD/PhD degree awarded between 2024 and 2026. Recent graduates are desired. At least one first-author publication, or first position among co-first authors, plus at least one additional co-authored publication. Be an enthusiastic, energetic, and curious scientist who pursues curiosity-driven research with motivation, tenacity, resilience, high levels of rigor and execution.
